Anambra Election: election result are inconclusive says INEC . The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
has made it clear that the results of the Anambra Governorship
election have not been yet concluded, stating that the total number of
cancelled votes is more than the difference between highest scorer of
votes and the runner up.
Supplementary polls are to hold where elections were cancelled.
Professor Epoke had initially given the figure of 113,113 as the total number of votes cancelled.
The INEC officer in Anambra, Professor James Epoke explained that the decision was reached owing to the fact that the number of cancelled votes is more than the difference between the number of votes polled by the winner and the runner-up.
In the results earlier announced by INEC at the end of collation, the APGA candidate Mr Willie Obiano had scored 174,710 votes while Mr. Tony Nwoye of the PDP polled 94,356 votes and the All Progressives Congress candidate Chris Ngige had 92,356 votes.
